Blanking masks are useful for creating a more interesting interactive display.
You can create a mask of any shape or size, and as projectors cannot project black, the black pixels won't be shown on the projection area.
The mask has to have an Alpha channel so the effect beneath can be seen through the transparent pixels. A mask file should be made up of Black and Transparent pixels.
In this example, the projected image will look like it's supposed to be an ellipse as the black pixels hide the layers beneath and cannot be seen using a projector.
It enables you to step away from the standard rectangular displays and create a display with an entirely new shape.
