Configure AdVis

Once you have installed the tracking kit, AdVis will be able to run effects straight away, however you will more than likely need to go into configure AdVis to adjust some simple settings to get the tracking working perfectly.

Click 'Configure AdVis' from the main window and you will be shown a new Dialog with the 'Motion Detection' tab displayed.

If you have installed the tracking kit successfully, you should see it listed in the combo box on the left and if everything is connected and powered up, you should be seeing an infrared camera feed in the main camera window. If the main camera window just says 'Connecting' or the camera feed is blank, please check the 'Tracking Kit' and 'Troubleshooting' topics.

For a basic installation, you should see the area where you want to track motion on the camera feed. You won't be able to see the actual projected image because the tracking kit uses infrared technology and cannot see visible light. You will need to have someone walking in the camera feed to help with the setup.

First, you need to check if the cameras orientation is correct. Make sure the persons direction matches what you are seeing on the screen. You may need to tick the Flip and/or Mirror box to change the camera orientation until it matches the persons direction.

On top of the camera feed is a yellow box with a grid. You can drag the corners of this grid. The grid needs to match the projection area. Have someone stand in each corner of the projection area, or place an object in each corner, and then drag the corners to the correct position. You may need to use the rotate option if the camera feed isn't straight, but you shouldn't need to if the tracking kit is placed correctly.

Now, make sure there is nothing moving in the camera feed, then press 'Auto Configure'. This will automatically determine the best sensitivity setting which needs to be adjusted for different environments.

You can then choose 'Save Settings and Close'. For most installations, this is all you need to do to get up and running. For more detail on advanced configuration settings, view the 'Configuration' help topic.
